PAINTING VIDEO DESCRIPTION – This canvas painting tutorial will take you through easy-to-follow step-by-step instructions on how to draw and paint this energetic landscape image painting of “OCEAN WAVE LIGHTHOUSE” with acrylic paint. Mother Nature is not to be messed with. All year round she seemingly wants to remind humanity that she is in charge. Cyclones, earthquakes, typhoons, tornados, hurricanes, blizzards, volcanoes, wildfires, droughts, floods, lightning strikes, are everywhere and are capable of effecting all of us. There is no safe hiding out there, we all live within Mother Nature’s reach. It’s her planet, and we are just temporary tenants. Although her wrath is spectacular and very powerfully beautifully, it can be violent, dangerous, and scary and often ends in tragedy for many, it’s just one more thing we get to be part of as we walk this incredible Earth. But that doesn’t mean we have to live in fear, and it certainly doesn’t mean we can’t appreciate and respect her power and marvel at her beauty, even when she is angry and upset. I’ve always been fascinated by the ocean, and, although I prefer walking on the beach during a sunny day enjoying the peace and tranquility of calming waters, I can’t help but to be visually struck by the massive waves crashing on rocks, ocean shores, and Lighthouses during a storm. Those epic waves possessing such thunderous energy are awe-inspiring. And it’s this power that is the inspiration behind this seascape painting. So, join me and paint with acrylics this exciting, fun and easy oceanscape image of one of Mother’s Nature’s reminders to humanity! The first lesson you’ll learn in this easy beginner painting tutorial is how to blend colors to create a soft gray which you’ll use to paint the whole background, creating a stormy atmosphere to your canvas. The perfect backdrop for your ocean wave to come to life as it crashes behind and around the tall building. After learning how to draw an outline for the lighthouse and rock using an easy dot-to-dot method, you’ll use primary colors to paint a base coat for your objects to work off of. Then you’ll paint highlights and shadows on the lighthouse for added depth and form, creating roundness giving it a 3-D appearance like a photograph. Then you’ll add final details to your lighthouse, including windows, a light and balcony. Next, you’ll paint an ocean wave in just 2 steps; 1st you’ll use a directional brushstroke and dark colors to apply a base coat with a drybrush scumbling technique to the splashing water, and 2nd you’ll add lighter tones to give your wave energy, texture and movement as it sprays into the air and is illuminated by the sunshine. Using only 3 brushes, and 6 colors, and only one brush per step, you’ll create the best canvas painting in the world! Paint loosely and make it an abstract painting, paint with oils and make it fine art, use bold yellows and red and make it pop art! Not just an inspirational painting with a seashore architectural landscape, but an easy painting for beginners. Paint at home, alone, or with friends! Have a date night, paint party, or virtual paint night. Paint with gouache, oil paint, or water colour, any medium will work! I hope you enjoy watching this Youtube art video and let’s get painting and let’s get sipping!
